If you'd like to achieve the appearance of longer, thicker, and fuller hair, then you may want to consider hair extensions! With so many different types of hair-extension methods available, however, you may be wondering what the best hair extension method is for you. Clip-In Extensions

If you're just looking to "test the waters" with hair extensions and don't yet want to commit to anything long-term, clip-ins can be a great option. These extensions come in contoured pieces that are attached to a base; this base can then be easily clipped into the hair and removed as needed. And because they're so easily removable, there is no damage to your natural hair.

You can clip in your own extensions, but we recommend at least having an initial fitting with one of our stylist so we can show you how to place them for the best look.

Tape-In Extensions

If you're looking for a longer-term hair extension method, you may want to consider tape-ins. As the term implies, these extensions come pre-taped and are then attached to your natural hair using a special bonding tape or glue. The application process should be done by an experienced stylist, as proper placement of the tape-in extensions is vital.

Tape-in extensions typically last for one to two months, at which point they can be removed and re-applied if they're still in good shape. You can keep your tape-in extensions in great shape by being careful to use the products recommended by your stylist.

Microlink Extensions

With microlink extensions (also commonly referred to as microbead extensions), small sections of hair are attached to your natural hair using a small silicone bead. Once properly positioned, the section of hair is secured using a special tool that tightens the bead in place. The end result is the appearance of beautiful extensions without damage to your hair.

Having microlink extensions applied by a professional is key to avoiding hair damage, and you'll generally need to re-visit your stylist every 2-4 months to have them re-positioned and secured since your natural hair will grow out and cause the extensions to shift over time. Still, many women enjoy this type of extension because it is long-lasting, non-damaging to the hair, and is generally low maintenance.

Cinderella Hair Veil

If you're interested in glue-in or tape-in hair extensions but don't want to worry about damaging your natural hair, a Cinderella hair veilmay be your best hair extension method. Specifically, Cinderella hair extensions use a unique bonding formula that allows them to be attached to your hair with little to no damage.

Because these extensions are placed in tiny sections, it is important to see a stylist who has been trained and certified in this specialized extension technique. Our team at Hair Loft Studio is proud to be certified in Cinderella hair extensions!

These extensions are relatively long-lasting and generally don't need to be replaced for 3-6 months with proper care. The key is making sure to use a specially formulated shampoo and conditioner that will protect the proprietary bonding agent holding the extensions to your natural hair.
